Bio

Omar is the third son of Latin American immigrant parents.

He graduated from the Franciscan University of Steubenville with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology having completed the Great Books program. From there he attended the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome (the Angelicum) studying theology. He returned to the States to complete his theological studies at the University of Dallas. He earned his Master of Arts degree in Theology after completing his thesis applying Blessed Cardinal Newman’s marks of authentic development of doctrine to the Declaration on Religious Liberty from Vatican II

Working for the Church in various capacities, Omar is currently working as the Special Assistant to the Archbishop of Omaha as well as the Manager of the Office of Missions & Justice.

Omar has been published by The Wanderer defending Vatican II, the National Catholic Register, CatholicVote.org and has a regular column in the newspaper for the Archdiocese of Omaha The Catholic Voice. Omar is a regular guest on Spirit Catholic Radio with his own radio program “Regnum Novum, The New Evangelization through Catholic Social Teaching” produced in collaboration with Kris McGregor.

Most importantly, Omar has been wonderfully and happily married to his wife Miriam, and they are exceedingly blessed by their three children.
